Alexandria, Corsica, Platte set to host Class B area Legion tournaments beginning July 23 – Mitchell Republic


Three Mitchell space communities will host Class B American Legion baseball area tournaments beginning Tuesday, July 23.

The Area 4B match will begin with all 5 groups in motion on Tuesday in Corsica. The hosts Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney will play within the leadoff recreation towards Tabor at 2 p.m., adopted by Wagner vs. Menno at 4:30 p.m. The MVPCS/Tabor winner will face Parkston at 7 p.m.

Parkston has the area’s greatest report at 8-4 getting into the match, with Tabor at 8-10. Two elimination video games are scheduled for Wednesday, July 24 and the ultimate three groups will play Thursday, July 25 and the championship collection begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, with an if essential recreation to observe.

In Area 5B, which can happen in Alexandria, Lake Norden and Redfield will play at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, adopted by Alexandria and Salem/Montrose/Canova at 5 p.m., whereas Humboldt/Hartford will play within the nightcap towards the Lake Norden/Redfield winner at 7:30 p.m. Two video games are scheduled Wednesday and Thursday at 5 p.m. and seven:30 p.m. every day, whereas Friday would be the championship collection, with the primary title recreation at 5 p.m. and a second, if essential recreation to observe.

By July 18, Alexandria, with a report of 9-5, edged Salem/Montrose/Canova for the area’s greatest report, with SMC holding a mark of 14-8. SMC has already certified for the Class B state Legion match because the host, that means the second-place crew from Area 5B might qualify if SMC wins the area title.

4 groups will collect in Platte on Tuesday for the Area 7B match and 4 video games are scheduled for the opening day. Belle Fourche and Chamberlain face off at midday, adopted by Platte/Geddes and Gregory at 2:30 p.m. The Belle Fourche/Chamberlain winner faces Winner/Colome at 5 p.m., and the Recreation 1 and Recreation 2 losers meet at 7:30 p.m. in an elimination recreation. Wednesday’s schedule has three video games and the ultimate two groups will meet within the championship collection beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, with an if essential recreation to observe. As for the area’s prime groups, Winner/Colome is 11-4, whereas Chamberlain is 9-6 and Belle Fourche is 11-9.

The seven area champions, plus host Salem/Montrose/Canova, will play within the Class B state match beginning Friday, Aug. 2 in Salem.
